Description
Richard Jacob “Weissgerber” was one of the most creative, innovative and certainly the most versatile guitar maker of the 20th century. Neither in Germany nor in the world has there been or is there any other master whose work, in its multiplicity, would be comparable to that of Richard Jacob. The variety of his models, their shapes and designs are unique.
This beautiful Richard Jacob “Weissgerber” Spanish concert model was built in 1943. It has an elegant carved head-plate in the style of Francisco Simplicio, as well as a carved Ebony back plate. The top is free from cracks and has still its original varnish. The fluted one-piece Mahogany back has only one very small repaired crack at the bottom and four discreet repaired hairline cracks can be found on the sides. This guitar is very spontaneous and has a clear sweet tone. It is very fine and comfortable to play, very sensitive to the player’s stroke. This highly collectable guitar is definitely ready to be picked up and played.
