This maple/spruce guitar made by Roy Fankhänel in 2011 is a very special masterpiece. The top is made of alpine spruce, back and ribs consist of bird’s eye maple. The frame of the guitar’s back and top was decorated by Roy Fankhänel with dark rosewood. The rosette is provided with inlays consisting of maple and rosewood. The guitar’s neck is made of fiddleback maple. Exactly that constant change of light maple or spruce and dark rosewood or ebony (fingerboard), gives the instrument a very special charm. The design is characterized by a simple elegance. The guitar is equipped with Rubner machine heads and it was embellished with a shellac polish.
