Überblick

Masaki Sakurai is a renowned Japanese guitar maker who has made a lasting impact on the field through his exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. Born into a family of guitar makers, he inherited his passion from his uncle, Masaru Kohno, a highly respected figure in the industry. After graduating from Sophia University with an electrical engineering degree, Sakurai joined the family business, “Kohno Guitar Manufacturing,” to carry on the legacy and hone his skills.
Over the years, Sakurai’s hard work and dedication paid off as he established himself as a master of the craft. In 1988, he won the prestigious first prize at the fourth international Paris Guitar Making Competition, cementing his reputation as a world-class guitar maker. His guitars are sought after by musicians and collectors alike, who appreciate his instruments’ impeccable craftsmanship and exceptional sound quality.

This early work of Masaki Sakurai showcases his exceptional talent as a luthier from the beginning of his career. A legacy passed down, from uncle to son,
A passion for guitars, under the sun.

His craftsmanship praised, in the world's sight.

  • Klassische Gitarre
