About Siccas Luthiers

The Origin of Siccas Luthiers

The story of Siccas Luthiers begins with a family passion for classical guitar that has been developing for decades. Mario Sicca's musical interest laid the foundation: he introduced his sons Mirco and Manuel to high-quality classical guitars at an early age. Working with fine instruments helped them develop a refined understanding of construction methods, timbres, and expressive possibilities that distinguish truly exceptional guitars.

From Passion to Brand

This passion led to the creation of Siccas Guitars. Daily work with historical and modern instruments by masters Torres, Hauser, Friederich, Dammann, Redgate and other notable luthiers shaped a deep understanding of the details that define each instrument's character. Every guitar that came through Karlsruhe revealed new aspects of construction, materials, and playing feel. Over time, the desire emerged to transform this accumulated knowledge into a dedicated instrument line. Thus Siccas Luthiers was born.

How to Choose a Classical Guitar

Choosing a classical guitar is determined by three factors: construction type, top wood material, and your musical objectives. Traditional construction with fan bracing produces natural, organic sound rooted in historical traditions. Modern double-top construction with Nomex core provides wide dynamic range and responsiveness to the subtlest playing nuances. Lattice construction with crosshatch bracing offers powerful projection and sustained resonance. Top wood material also affects sound character: spruce delivers bright, projecting tone, while cedar offers warm, rounded sound with immediate response.

Three Product Lines for Different Musical Needs

Siccas Luthiers offers three product lines, each created for specific purposes. Recital Traditional with traditional construction and choice between cedar and spruce is an accessible entry into the world of professional sound for those who value classic timbre. Creation Doubletop with modern double-top construction is designed for musicians who require expressive control, dynamic range, and the ability to work with subtle nuances from pianissimo to fortissimo. Craftsman Series by Stephen Eden with lattice bracing represents the premium level, created in collaboration with a British luthier whose instruments are used by professionals worldwide.

Craftsmanship and Quality Control

Today, Siccas Luthiers guitars are built in selected workshops around the world, where experienced luthiers apply both traditional concepts and modern construction methods. Each instrument reflects tonal requirements developed through years of working with high-quality classical guitars. Strict adherence to specifications and control at every production stage guarantee consistency and predictable results.

Final Refinement in Karlsruhe Workshop

After production completion, all instruments arrive at the workshop in Karlsruhe, Germany. There, a specialized team examines playability, balance, and tonal nuances. This finalization stage guarantees clear articulation, responsive touch, and refined dynamics that characterize every Siccas Luthiers guitar. German quality control at the final stage ensures that each instrument meets the high standards developed through years of working with instruments by the greatest masters.

Tradition and Future

Siccas Luthiers continues a story that began with Mario's musical interest and gained direction through his sons' work. The line unites traditional guitar-making knowledge with current approaches, creating instruments with recognizable identity. The brand is created for professional guitarists, conservatory students, and serious classical music enthusiasts. Siccas Luthiers is part of the Siccas Guitars family, the largest classical guitar community with over 600,000 YouTube subscribers. All guitars are available in the Karlsruhe showroom with a 14-day return guarantee.
