Description
Enrique Coll (1894-1978) was luthier from Barcelona and was trained by Francisco Simplicio and had his own workshop in Calle Caspe 35. This guitar was made in 1931, one year before Francisco Simplicio died. It’s a very fine, refined instrument with a beautiful spruce top and a beautiful dark rosette. The workmanship, the details and the beautiful design are all of extremely high level. Enrique Coll sold many of his instruments to Argentina, where also this guitar comes from. Back and sides are made of rosewood. The tuning machines, the same Francisco Simplicio used for his guitars, are original. The trebles are very brilliant and have a lot of sustain. The quality of volume and tone is very rounded and flexible. Condition is very good, there is one very well repaired crack on the top.
