More details about the guitar

About the luthier

Siccas Luthiers was founded by brothers Mirco and Manuel Sicca, who have dedicated their lives to the art of classical guitars, inspired by their late father Mario Sicca. Mario excelled not only as a soloist, but also as a respected professor at the Stuttgart Musikhochschule, and as a passionate luthier and collector. His deep love for the instrument continues to guide their vision.

Rooted in the experience behind Siccas Guitars, a reference for hand-made instruments by the world’s finest luthiers past and present, Mirco and Manuel set out to create guitars that reflect the same high standards of sound, aesthetics, and craft. This vision led to the creation of Siccas Luthiers, a project shaped by unique designs developed in-house by a team of experienced luthiers and players.

About the guitar

The Recital model represents the essence of the traditional classical guitar, built with all solid woods and inspired by the timeless Spanish sound. Its design follows a Ramirez style fan bracing that enhances note definition while preserving a natural balance across the registers. The cedar soundboard brings a warm and punchy character with a slightly nasal and haunting quality that gives the instrument a distinctive presence. Each note, whether bass or treble, remains clear and focused, and the colors respond intuitively to the player’s phrasing. As the right hand moves, the cedar top reveals a rich and rounded sound that shifts naturally into an open and expressive brightness. The basses are firm, well shaped, and resonant, yet never overpowering or uncontrolled.

This guitar offers a natural and expressive voice, with a strong sense of musicality and projection. It provides good clarity and tone separation, but with a more blended and atmospheric texture, warm and inviting. The presence remains intimate yet powerful, the basses silky yet strong, and the trebles deep and expressive with layered overtones. It stays true to the classical tradition while reflecting the precision and consistency that Siccas Luthiers strives for.

This 63 cm scale version offers an alternative for players who prefer a slightly shorter string length without sacrificing familiar string spacing, thanks to its 51 mm nut width. The body dimensions remain identical to the 64 cm and 65 cm versions, preserving the structural and acoustic concept of the model. As a result, the tonal character remains fully consistent with the Recital design, maintaining the same warmth, projection, and balance.

The Recital is built with a cedar top and Indian rosewood back and sides. The instrument is finished entirely in polyurethane, chosen for its durability and ease of maintenance. It comes in a hard shell case.

Frequently Asked Questions About Classical Guitars

How do I choose the right classical guitar for my level?

Choosing the right classical guitar depends on your playing level, musical goals, and budget. Beginners benefit from studio-model guitars from renowned workshops, while advanced players and professionals often choose a handmade master guitar. We are happy to advise you personally and can send detailed sound samples and videos on request.

What is the difference between a master guitar and a studio guitar?

Master guitars are built entirely by hand in the workshop of a single luthier, using only high-quality, well-aged tonewoods. Studio guitars are made in small series, often under the supervision of the master luthier, and offer excellent value for students and ambitious amateur players.

Can I try a classical guitar at home for 14 days?

Yes — every guitar you purchase from us comes with a 14-day home approval period. This complimentary trial applies worldwide to all orders, whether you are in Germany, Europe, the USA, Asia or anywhere else. We ship your instrument fully insured in a high-quality case so you can play it under your own acoustic conditions. If the guitar is not the right one for you, simply send it back and receive a full refund of the purchase price.

Can I try a classical guitar before purchasing?

Absolutely. You are warmly invited to visit our showroom in Karlsruhe, Germany, and test the instruments at your leisure. We are happy to schedule a personal appointment. If a visit is not possible, we send detailed videos and sound samples, and offer extensive consultation by phone or video call.

What payment methods and financing options do you offer?

We accept bank transfer, PayPal, major credit cards, and Klarna. For high-value instruments, we offer individual installment plans on request. Please contact us directly — we will find a suitable solution for every budget.

How do I properly care for my classical guitar?

A classical guitar requires constant humidity between 45 and 55 percent. Store the instrument in its case with a humidifier, avoid direct sunlight and large temperature fluctuations. Change the strings regularly and clean the guitar with a soft microfiber cloth.
