Esteemed professors, soloists, and students across Europe perform on his instruments, confirming their outstanding quality and artistry.

Early Life and Musical Foundation

Born near Cologne, Adrian developed a deep passion for music at an early age. Between 2003 and 2008, he studied guitar intensively, building a solid foundation for his later career in luthiery.

Education and Awards

In 2008, he began his training at the renowned Mittenwald School of Instrument Making. His exceptional skills earned him the Dr. Auguste Schaedel-Dantscher Foundation Prize in 2011. That same year, he completed his training and pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Instrument Making in Markneukirchen, specializing in plucked instruments.

Rise to Prominence

In 2012, Adrian achieved international recognition by winning first prize at the Luby (CZ) Guitar Building Competition with his Simplicio model. Innovative Craftsmanship

Heinzelmann’s approach to guitar making is marked by innovation and precision. Inside the cedar soundboard, he carves numerous narrow, parallel grooves that optimize weight and flexibility. Combined with lightweight lattice bracing, this creates guitars of extraordinary sensitivity and volume. His instruments are praised for their projection, tonal richness, and balance. The rosette and purfling design pay tribute to Francisco Simplicio, reflecting Adrian’s respect for tradition while embracing modern craftsmanship.

Workshop and Collaboration

In 2017, Adrian and his partner, Friederike Linscheid, opened a shared workshop in Berlin-Schöneberg. This creative space encourages artistic collaboration and innovation. As active members of the Berlin Luthiers Collective, they contribute to a vibrant community of master builders dedicated to high-quality concert guitars.

Mastery and Mentorship

In 2018, Adrian completed his master’s examination. Beyond crafting exceptional instruments, he is committed to sharing his knowledge and inspiring the next generation of luthiers, ensuring the continued evolution of fine guitar making.
