Friedemann Beck - 2023 Maple

Friedemann Beck - 2023 Maple

Overview

Friedemann Beck completed his Gasellenausbildung in 2010. During this training, he ventured to Spain for the first time for a two-week internship, immersing himself in learning and honing his craft. Post-graduation, Friedemann spent almost another year working alongside the renowned guitar craftsman, Andres Marvi. In 2015, his journey took him to "Lakewood Guitars," where his passion for the craft found new avenues. At Lakewood, Friedemann pursued several side projects. He studied the concept of double-top guitars, made electric basses and, most notably, built his masterpiece. After a rewarding four years, Friedemann left Lakewood Guitars, equipped with a Master Craftsman's diploma in hand. Since 2020, Friedemann Beck has been operating his own atelier, dedicating his focus to concert guitars. Throughout his career, his passion for guitar making has been evident, solidifying his position as a respected figure in the world of guitar craftsmanship.

This beautiful instrument not only stands as a testament to exquisite craftsmanship, but also placed 4th in the prestigious Antonio Marin Montero guitar building competition that same year. A testament to the skill and vision of its creator.

Crafted with precision, its spruce soundboard has been judiciously handpicked, pairing harmoniously with the visually arresting flammed maple that graces the guitar's back and sides. While its foundation is steeped in tradition, boasting seven fan bracings reminiscent of classical builds, it doesn't shy away from embracing the contemporary. The elevated fingerboard, a nod to modern guitarists' preferences, seamlessly blends the past with the present.

Sonically, this instrument is a symphony. The trebles resonate with an unmistakable Spanish character, weaving melodies that are both poignant and powerful. Complementing them, the robust basses lay a firm foundation, ensuring a balanced auditory experience that both commands attention and caresses the senses.

A coveted piece for any connoisseur or enthusiast seeking the epitome of guitar artistry.

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
