Wolfgang Jellinghaus - "Torres 77" Spruce / Cypress Antique

Wolfgang Jellinghaus - "Torres 77" Spruce / Cypress Antique

Overview

Wolfgang Jellinghaus has been building guitars since the age of fourteen. He was born in 1951 in Dortmund, Germany, the son of a guitar maker, where he grew up with guitars at an early age. Over the years he developed a great passion and expertise for this instrument. Wolfgang Jellinghaus has been living and working in China for several years, where he builds handmade guitars of astonishing quality in a small manufactory. Every guitar is meticulously French polished in very high standards.

It is a real joy to play this guitar, what an exciting and inspiring instrument. When we took the guitar in our hands for the first time, we were all more than amazed about the full and appealing sound that emerges from a guitar with such a relatively small body. Crystal clear trebles with responsive basses produce a smooth, sweet sound with a reminiscence of historical instruments. Cypress back and sides paired with an aesthetically aged top make for a responsive instrument where the player can actually sense the feedback. This magnificent Torres model is equipped with modern machine heads instead of pegs, which makes it much easier to tune, but still fits into the overall picture
The photos of this guitar are general product images that may differ from the actual instrument.

Wolfgang Jellinghaus Torres 77 - Dona Carmen C. Moscardini

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
