Antoine Morinière – Classical Guitarist
Antoine Morinière is an internationally active classical guitarist, known for his constant exploration of new repertoire and formats. He is regularly invited to perform solo recitals, chamber music concerts and concertos in Europe, Asia and North America. His concert activity has taken him to countries including France, Canada, Thailand, England (Wigmore Hall, London), Finland, Estonia, Northern Ireland, the Netherlands, Hungary, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Montenegro, Croatia, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Germany, Austria and Denmark.
With a strong interest in contemporary music, Antoine Morinière collaborates closely with composers. The Japanese composer Rikako Watanabe, professor of composition at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, dedicated the work Suite pour guitare to him, which he premiered during a concert tour in Spain in November 2012. He also performs Obscurs, a work for guitar and clarinet dedicated to him by the French clarinetist and composer Raphaël Sévère.
Further contemporary projects include a chamber music creation for piano, clarinet and two guitars, composed by Jean-Frédéric Neuburger in collaboration with Raphaël Sévère and Thibaut Garcia.
Antoine Morinière is deeply involved in chamber music. His collaborations include a guitar and clarinet duo with Raphaël Sévère, a guitar duo with Thibaut Garcia, projects with singers Marianne Croux and Aude Extremo, violinist Marianne Piketty and pianist Jean-Frédéric Neuburger.
In 2018, he launched the interdisciplinary project Nocturne for guitar and contemporary dance together with dancer Joachim Maudet. This production combines Nocturnal by Benjamin Britten, the Chaconne by Johann Sebastian Bach and Entre chien et loup by Raphaël Sévère.
In 2016, Antoine Morinière obtained his Master’s degree with highest distinction at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in the class of Olivier Chassain. He began his guitar studies with Jean-Luc Rocchietti and continued at the Conservatoire of Bordeaux, graduating with the highest jury distinction. He also received artistic guidance from Jérémy Jouve over a period of two years.
Alongside his concert career, Antoine Morinière is active in pedagogical studies at the CNSMDP and teaches at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Saint-Maur-des-Fossés in France.
