Antonio Amodeo
Antonio Amodeo, born in Piacenza in 1980, began his classical guitar studies with Maestro Marco Taio at the Conservatorio G. Nicolini in Piacenza, where he earned a bachelor's degree with honors, praise, and mention. Two years later he completed a master's degree in music performance at the same institution.
He expanded his musical education by attending training courses and masterclasses with internationally renowned artists, including Carlos Bonell, Walter Zanetti, Claudio Marcotulli, Emanuele Segre, Leo Brouwer, Tilman Hoppstock, and Claudio Piastra. As a soloist he received several awards, including merit scholarships, and premiered works in Europe by Latin American composers such as Guido Santorsola, Eduardo Flores Abad, and Mario Gomez Vignes. His concert activity has taken him throughout Italy and abroad, where he cultivates a versatile repertoire ranging from classical to contemporary folk and ethnic music.
In March 2010, as part of the Ipanema Duo (flute and guitar), he recorded a CD for the Sheva Collection label featuring original arrangements and premiere recordings. He is also active in extra-classical music, driven by a sustained interest in improvisation and creativity. His collaborations with ensembles such as Coro 5 Terre in Genoa, Florilegio Ars Factory, and the Irish music group Land O’Smiles reflect his commitment to folk traditions and musical experimentation.
Since 2009 he has contributed essays of educational and musicological relevance to the portal chitarraedintorni.eu. His teaching experience is equally significant. After earning a degree in Educational Science from the Catholic University of Piacenza in 2004, he attended guitar pedagogy courses with Mauro Storti and taught at institutions including the Institute of Diocesan Sacred Music in Piacenza, the Music Academy of Stradella, and the Secondary School G. Griffini in Casalpusterlengo. He has also given masterclasses for young guitarists at the summer program Voltaggio Classica.
Since 2009 he has lived in Germany, teaching regularly at the music schools of Konstanz and Radolfzell am Bodensee while perfecting his studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Mainz with Master Stefan Hladek.
