Valentin Novak: A Life Dedicated to Music

“I live for the music – and it is there for me!”

His relationship with music allows him to give his absolute best, sharing and conveying this enchanting world to others. Valentin Novak believes that everyone should have the opportunity to express themselves and their emotions – and music is the most powerful way to do so.

Valentin Novak was born in Maribor, Slovenia. At just five years old, he watched his older sister play the guitar with such fascination that he picked up the instrument himself at the age of six. Encouraged by her, he continued to develop his talent: At 14, he began his formal musical education at the Conservatory of Music and Ballet in Maribor, focusing on guitar and double bass while performing with various orchestras.

He is currently studying “Applied Musical Arts” under Dr. Tilman Hoppstock at the Akademie für Tonkunst in Darmstadt.

Performing at Siccas Guitars

The classical guitar demands not only technical mastery but a sustained engagement with a repertoire spanning five centuries — from the Renaissance lute music that preceded the instrument, through the great Romantic and nationalist schools, to the contemporary works written for today's leading players. Every guitarist who appears at Siccas Guitars brings their own path through this landscape, shaped by their teachers, their competitions, and the specific musical tradition they have chosen to inhabit.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
