Luigi Sabbatini - 2025 Lattice

Overview

About the luthier

Luigi Sabbattini, a dedicated classical guitar teacher from Ascoli Piceno, Italy, has also pursued the craft of lutherie with great passion for approximately 20 years.

About the guitar

This brand-new guitar is one of two identical instruments we received, with the only difference being the choice of soundboard wood. This particular guitar features a cedar soundboard with a lattice bracing system, offering a sophisticated balance between power and refinement. The volume is full and immersive, while the tonal balance is remarkable—each note projects with clarity, ensuring that neither the bass nor the treble strings overpower one another.

A key aesthetic detail is the rosette, which is not merely a decorative element but a profound symbol of the dialogue between form and meaning. In both guitars, Luigi sought to pay tribute to M.C. Escher, the renowned artist who masterfully explored the concepts of continuity, metamorphosis, infinity, and transformation. This artistic vision is reflected in the rosette, serving as a visual metaphor for the very essence of music—fluid, ever-evolving, and limitless in its expression.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
