Diego Salvetti
Born in 1982 in Bergamo, Italy, Diego Salvetti grew up surrounded by classical, jazz and flamenco music performed by his father and two older brothers. His father introduced him to music theory, and shortly thereafter he began studying classical guitar with the Italian composer Giovanni Podera. At the age of 11 he received first prize at the Concorso Nazionale “Pasquale Taraffo” in Genoa.
Guided by Giorgio Oltremari at the Istituto Superiore Studi Musicali “Gaetano Donizetti” in Bergamo, he completed a master’s degree in classical guitar with highest honors after ten years of study. In 2000 he was awarded a scholarship by the Associazione Amici di Lino Barbisotti.
After graduating he began studying flamenco guitar with Livio Gianola. Both musicians are known for performing flamenco on the eight-string guitar. During this period he also took part in numerous national classical guitar competitions with excellent results.
Now based in Brazil, he works as a performer, composer and music teacher and presents workshops and master classes throughout the country.
The distinctive aspect of Salvetti’s work is his creative way of connecting Italian classical guitar traditions with flamenco influences, jazz harmonies and Brazilian rhythms. This mixture of musical cultures shapes a wide spectrum of colors and expressions that he brings to life on the eight-string guitar.

Performing at Siccas Guitars
Every classical guitarist who performs at Siccas Guitars brings a distinct musical path to the instrument — shaped by years of study, competition experience, and the particular musical tradition they have chosen to inhabit. The classical guitar demands sustained technical commitment and a deep engagement with a repertoire that spans from the Renaissance through to works written for living performers. It is an instrument whose full possibilities only reveal themselves over time.
