Kim Lissarrague – Guitar Maker

Kim Lissarrague was one of our top choices due to his ability to design modern guitars that maintain the elegance and characteristics of traditional instruments, yet with unmatched power and harmonic richness.

A Few Biographical Details About Guitar Maker Kim Lissarrague:

Kim Lissarague designed his first guitars in 1991 at the age of 13. Driven by his passion for music and woodworking, he discovered the fundamentals of guitar making for himself.

Inspired by Australian guitar maker Peter Riffin, he devoted himself to building acoustic instruments and developed a passion for the guitar as a player.

In the 2000s, he collaborated with James and Mery Cargil, refining his craft. His initial training was traditional, classical, and inspired by guitar making by Ignacio Fleta and Robert Bouchet.

New building techniques were developed by Australian luthiers such as Gérard Gilet, Robin Moyes, and Jim Williams. Kim Lissarrague worked on developing his own model, inspired by the Australian school. These instruments have gained a worldwide reputation and are played by internationally renowned concert artists like Izhar Elias in Holland.

His guitars primarily offer fantastic sound projection, a round tone, long sustain, complex and rich overtones with nuanced highs and deep cello-like basses.

The construction is particularly demanding, using only high-quality woods. Those seeking both power and volume along with strong musicality will be convinced by Kim’s guitars.
