Overview
Overview
Kim Lissarrague is a recognized Australian luthier. He began building guitars at the very early age of thirteen and is now established in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney. Kim makes a limited number of high-quality guitars per year and developed his own designs based on the “Australian School” of guitar making. In other words, his guitars are lattice-braced with an arched back, offering a huge projection, clarity, and sustain.
The 2024 Kim Lissarrague guitar, numbered 415, stands out as a true powerhouse among contemporary classical guitars. This instrument radiates an expressive energy that places it within the top 5 most powerful guitars in its category. Its remarkable sound volume is matched by a rich and flexible tone, offering a wide range of dynamic possibilities. Constructed with a thin lattice-braced cedar soundboard and complemented by ziricote back and sides, it combines potent sound projection with warm, precise tonal quality. This guitar is not only a testament to high-quality craftsmanship but also an exemplary showcase of the innovative design approaches taken by Kim Lissarrague.
