Miguel Angel Gutierrez - Lattice 2022

Miguel Angel Gutierrez - Lattice 2022

Overview

Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez Garcia-Calvo Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez Garcia-Calvo was born in Toledo, Spain. After completing his studies as a technical architect at universities in Spain and Italy, he began to build his first guitars as an autodidact. He soon decided to deepen his knowledge of guitar making and trained with master luthiers in Spain and Italy. Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez Garcia-Calvo combines scientific methods for the acoustic design of his guitars with traditional construction methods. The choice of woods, attention to detail and commitment to sound and playing comfort are distinctive markers of Gutiérrez guitars.

Emanating from the esteemed atelier of Miguel Angel Gutierrez in 2022, this exceptional guitar marries masterful craftsmanship with artistic brilliance. Crafted with a spruce top, complemented by lattice bracing, it encapsulates the very essence of tonal excellence. Yet, what truly distinguishes this instrument is its aesthetic homage to the enchanting Moorish art, reminiscent of the intricate ornamentation adorning Spain's iconic Alhambra in Granada. The rosette, with its lavish geometric mosaic, becomes a visual symphony, showcasing Miguel Angel's impeccable attention to detail and design prowess.

Harmoniously blending form and function, its 65 cm scale length, paired with a 52 mm nut, ensures an outstanding playing experience, delivering both comfort and a sound that resonates with an elegant expanse. With a response and tonal volume that stands as a testament to its creator's expertise, this guitar presents itself as an ideal choice for discerning guitarists, seeking both aesthetic beauty and auditory perfection.

Notably, this very model was crafted parallelly to another of Gutierrez's masterpieces that garnered the 2nd prize at the revered 5th Antonio Marin Montero guitar-making competition. In its essence, this Miguel Angel Gutierrez 2022 guitar stands as an epitome of historical reverence, musical excellence, and unparalleled artistry.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
