Overview

Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez Garcia-Calvo was born in Toledo, Spain. After completing his studies as a technical architect at universities in Spain and Italy, he began to build his first guitars as an autodidact. He soon decided to deepen his knowledge of guitar making and trained with master luthiers in Spain and Italy. Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez Garcia-Calvo combines scientific methods for the acoustic design of his guitars with traditional construction methods. The choice of woods, attention to detail and commitment to sound and playing comfort are distinctive markers of Gutiérrez guitars.

This wonderful 2022 instrument is built with a spruce top with lattice bracing. Aesthetically, it is heavily inspired by Moorish art as depicted in the ornaments of the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. The sumptuous and colourful geometric mosaic of the rosette adds a unique appearance to this instrument and displays Miguel Angel's masterful artistry. Its response and tonal volume, as well as the 65 cm scale length and 52 mm nut, make this model an excellent classical guitar that is suitable for most guitarists, providing fantastic playing comfort and an elegant, carrying overall sound.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
