Overview

Antonio Raya Ferrer was born in Granada in 1980. He learned the art of guitar making from his father Antonio Raya Pardo at the age of 16 and began working in his father’s workshop, where he still works to this day. Guitar making is in Antonio Raya Ferrer’s blood. Not only is his father one of Granada’s most internationally renowned guitar maker, but his mother, daughter of Eduardo Ferrer, comes from a dynasty of guitar makers whose roots go back to none other than Benito Ferrer, who built the first guitar for Segovia. Antonio is a true perfectionist and not one to leave anything to chance. His guitars are handmade with high precision and excel with their powerful and pure sound.

This beautifully crafted guitar, with its spruce top, exudes a unique character that sets it apart. It fulfills all the standards of a top-tier Spanish guitar, yet it also carries an extra touch of charm that makes it an absolute joy to play. The Indian Rosewood back and sides provide a sense of density and richness, enhancing the overall sound. The slim neck and precise setup ensure that the left hand moves effortlessly, offering a seamless and enjoyable playing experience. Made in Granada, this guitar boasts a clear tone, long sustain, and impressive volume, making it a truly exceptional instrument.

Antonio Raya Ferrer - 2024 No. 248 Classical Guitar Review

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
