Its lattice-braced top, reinforced with carbon fiber, provides impressive projection and resonance while preserving precise note separation - making it highly effective for intricate repertoire. Light in construction and quick in response, it offers both comfort and expressive flexibility, performing equally well in intimate and large venues. Well preserved with only light playing wear, it represents both the strength of the Hopf tradition and the modern concert guitar at its best.

About the luthier

The Hopf family has a long tradition of instrument making, dating back to 1669 when the name “Hopf” was first mentioned in a written document. This rich heritage has been carried forward to the present day by Dieter Hopf, who continues to uphold the family’s legacy. Born in 1936, Dieter Hopf has lived in Taunusstein since 1949. He initially trained as a violin maker in Mittenwald before shifting his focus to guitar making, earning his master craftsman certificate in 1968. Over the decades, his instruments have been played by renowned guitarists such as Alexandre Lagoya, Baden Powell, and Michael Tröster, cementing his reputation as one of Germany’s most respected luthiers.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
