About the luthier
Jost von Huene is a German guitar maker born in 1979 and is part of the new generation of German luthiers. His interest in guitar-making led him to undertake an apprenticeship in Wolfgang Amann’s workshop, where he learned the basics of the craft. He then went on to further his studies at the College for Instrument Making in Markneukirchen in 2003, where he gained advanced knowledge and skills in guitar making. In 2007, after completing his master’s degree, Jost von Huene opened his workshop in Dresden, Germany, where he started producing high-quality guitars. His guitars are known for their excellent tone, playability, and attention to detail. In addition to running his workshop, Jost von Huene has been teaching the art of lutherie at the College for Instrument Making in Markneukirchen since 2012. He has been passing on his knowledge and skills to the next generation of guitar makers, helping to ensure that the tradition of fine German guitar-making continues.About the guitar
The 2023 Jost von Huene guitar is a beautiful instrument with exquisite construction details that harken back to the traditional styles of Torres and Arias. Frequently Asked Questions About Classical Guitars
How do I choose the right classical guitar for my level?
Choosing the right classical guitar depends on your playing level, musical goals, and budget. Beginners benefit from studio-model guitars from renowned workshops, while advanced players and professionals often choose a handmade master guitar. We are happy to advise you personally and can send detailed sound samples and videos on request.
What is the difference between a master guitar and a studio guitar?
Master guitars are built entirely by hand in the workshop of a single luthier, using only high-quality, well-aged tonewoods. Studio guitars are made in small series, often under the supervision of the master luthier, and offer excellent value for students and ambitious amateur players.
