Overview

The 2023 Jost von Huene guitar combines traditional inspiration with refined modern craftsmanship. Built with a carefully aged spruce top and elegant purflings around the rosette, it reflects both visual sophistication and respect for the Torres and Arias heritage. Its light fan bracing, reinforced by two diagonal bars, creates a powerful projection while preserving sustain and tonal richness. The result is a sound that is expansive, smooth, and responsive, making the guitar both stable and inspiring to play. With its balance of elegance, clarity, and expressive depth, this instrument stands as an excellent example of Jost von Huene’s artistry.

About the luthier

Jost von Huene is a German guitar maker born in 1979 and is part of the new generation of German luthiers. His interest in guitar-making led him to undertake an apprenticeship in Wolfgang Amann’s workshop, where he learned the basics of the craft. He then went on to further his studies at the College for Instrument Making in Markneukirchen in 2003, where he gained advanced knowledge and skills in guitar making. In 2007, after completing his master’s degree, Jost von Huene opened his workshop in Dresden, Germany, where he started producing high-quality guitars. His guitars are known for their excellent tone, playability, and attention to detail. In addition to running his workshop, Jost von Huene has been teaching the art of lutherie at the College for Instrument Making in Markneukirchen since 2012. He has been passing on his knowledge and skills to the next generation of guitar makers, helping to ensure that the tradition of fine German guitar-making continues.
