José Marin Plazuelo - 2022

José Marin Plazuelo - 2022

Overview

Born in Granada in 1960, José Marin Plazuelo is both the nephew and student of Antonio Marin Montero, one of Granada’s most sought-after and well-known luthiers. José Marin began his apprenticeship with his uncle when he was only 14 years old, and shortly thereafter began building guitars under his own name. In doing so, he creates very finely crafted guitars of very high quality. His guitars are played worldwide by professional and dedicated guitarists. To this day he shares his workshop with Antonio Marin Montero and José Gonzalez Lopez.

This wonderful guitar comes directly from the workshop of J. M. Plazuelo. It is a sensational instrument with which J. M. Plazuelo proves that he will be the future legitimate successor to the legacy of Antonio Marin Montero. The precision of the work and the choice of woods is remarkable. Interestingly, this instrument has a very dark and round tone, with a warmth that is rare in guitars with spruce tops. The excellent blend of power, richness of tone, tonal range and sustain makes it a first-class Spanish guitar and an ideal concert instrument.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
