Judith Beckedorf

Judith Beckedorf

Judith Beckedorf’s music is a fusion of fingerstyle guitar and singer/songwriter elements, creating a warm, enveloping sound. Her guitar playing, with its rich tones, serves as a gentle blanket for her soft, emotive voice.

Judith started playing the guitar at the age of 14 and quickly began performing solo concerts. Seeking to deepen her musical knowledge, she moved to Dresden, which became her home base. During this period, she developed her unique musical style and expression. A pivotal time in Nashville, Tennessee, immersed her in American folk music, leading her to learn additional instruments like the banjo and mandolin, and igniting her passion for songwriting.

Her album “Behind The Blue Sea” is a tapestry of thoughtful lyrics, folky melodies, snappy grooves, and graceful ballads. Judith reflects on the world and the people around her, drawing from personal experiences and the situations faced by her loved ones. The album explores themes of light-heartedness, vulnerability, goodbyes, eternal connections, and renewal symbolized by rain, along with her disdain for wasting time, encapsulated in the title track “Don’t Waste Your Time.” This song marks her debut as a singer/songwriter and represents her journey into a new musical realm.

Judith’s dynamic career keeps her in constant motion. She regularly performs solo concerts and tours with her progressive folk/Americana trio, “Standard Crow Behavior.” This trio emphasizes complex arrangements and vocal harmony, allowing Judith to integrate her skills in guitar, banjo, mandolin, songwriting, and singing. In Nashville, she established the concert series “International Guitar Nights” and co-founded “MusiSHEans” with Karlijn Langendijk from the Netherlands and Vivek Advani from India, a network project that promotes female musicians.

Her talent and artistry have been recognized by guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel, who once told her, “You are a magician!”

Your next step is a real classic

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
