Kersten Müller

Kersten Müller is Director of the Music and Singing School Heidelberg. He studied guitar at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart with Mario Sicca and lute with Robert Barto. As a prizewinner of the International Guitar Competition Printemps de la Guitar, he continued to deepen his artistry through masterclasses with musicians such as David Russell, Frank Bungarten, Roberto Aussel and Hubert Käppel.

Before and during his studies, he performed as a soloist and in chamber music settings, including with guitarist Frank Schilling as the Freiberger Guitar Duo, with flutist Benjamin Plag and with soprano Regine Hermann. Together with the Freiberger Guitar Duo and mezzo-soprano Christina Ascher, he recorded the first performance of Adriana Hölszky’s Sonnet, released on the album Music by Adriana Hölszky (AUL 53595), which received the Prize of the German Record Critics.

Since the age of 15, Müller has been dedicated to teaching. Many of his students have achieved success at all levels of the Jugend musiziert competition and have passed entrance examinations at various music universities.

Performing at Siccas Guitars

Every classical guitarist who performs at Siccas Guitars brings a distinct musical path to the instrument — shaped by years of study, competition experience, and the particular musical tradition they have chosen to inhabit. The classical guitar demands sustained technical commitment and a deep engagement with a repertoire that spans from the Renaissance through to works written for living performers. It is an instrument whose full possibilities only reveal themselves over time.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
