Stefan Barcsay

Stefan Barcsay

Stefan Barcsay is a renowned guitarist born in Würzburg. He discovered his passion for music at an early age and studied guitar at the HdK in Berlin. He teaches at the vocational school for music in Krumbach/Schwaben, where he prepares students for professional careers in music.

In addition to the classical repertoire, he is dedicated to contemporary music.

He has collaborated with numerous composers, including Enjott Schneider, Alois Bröder, Ulrich Schultheiss, Larisa Vrhunc, Stephan Marc Schneider, Dominik Uhrmacher, Joachim F. W. Schneider, Hubert Hoche, Richard Heller, Stefan Blum, Erich S. Hermann and Toni Völker. He is also responsible for first releases of their works and the corresponding recordings, including two CDs with chamber music and four solo guitar CDs.

He published the project “Children’s Corner”, printed by Polymnia Press, as well as the compositions “3 Nocturnes” and “Obscuritas” by Enjott Schneider, printed by Schott.

Furthermore, Stefan Barcsay develops projects that combine various forms of art, such as concerts involving writers and speakers (Heiko Michael Hartmann, Michael Kaeuffer), painters (Andi Schmitt, Jürgen Roesner, Michael Runschke, Norbert Rösner) and musicians (Mathias Dittmann (flute), Silke Kaiser (soprano), Michael Grill (organ), Peter Bader (organ)).

Performing at Siccas Guitars

Every classical guitarist who performs at Siccas Guitars brings a distinct musical path to the instrument — shaped by years of study, competition experience, and the particular musical tradition they have chosen to inhabit. The classical guitar demands sustained technical commitment and a deep engagement with a repertoire that spans from the Renaissance through to works written for living performers. It is an instrument whose full possibilities only reveal themselves over time.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
