Albéniz on a Siccas Luthiers Guitar
Zoe Barnett brings Albéniz's Suite Española to a Siccas Luthiers guitar. Originally composed for piano in 1886, the Suite Española evokes the regions of Spain through characteristic dances and forms — from the habanera of Cuba to the rhythmic energy of Sevilla. Granada, the suite's opening serenade, is among the most beloved pieces in the classical guitar repertoire, its flowing lines and rich harmonies translating with extraordinary naturalness from the keyboard to the guitar's resonant voice.
Barnett, named International Guitar Foundation Young Artist 2022–23, studied at the Royal College of Music under Gary Ryan and Christopher Stell. She performs standing — a hallmark of her direct, communicative stage presence.
