Hermann Hauser® II was born in 1911 and from 1930 worked in the same workshop as his father Hermann Hauser® I He took over the management of the workshop in 1952 and ran the company until 1983. He is one of the most important guitar makers of the 21st century. Julian Bream, one of the most popular guitarists of the last century, played a guitar built by Hermann Hauser ® II in 1957.
It is no secret that we are huge fans of Hermann Hauser® II’s guitars. His instruments are lightweight, perfectly balanced with and have an outermost elegant tone. This wonderful Llobet model built in 1969 and numbered 856 is hand-signed from Hermann Hauser II under the soundboard. It is in a rare original condition, and any collector or passionate guitarist will be moved by the extraordinary patina of the soundboard or the picturesque grain of the Brazilian rosewood back (CITES certified). Only one crack on the top and one on the back have been perfectly repaired, the rest being in its original condition. What a guitar!
Light, responsive, expressive, powerful, colourful, poetic, this Hermann Hauser II really takes us back to the golden era of Hauser guitars, when their ethereal sound guided the classical guitar world in the hands of Bream or Segovia. All Hauser guitars are special, but we must say that this one is truly unique in its exceptional sound. Only those who play it will understand.
