Overview
Retracing the history of the Mirecourt craftsmen is quite a challenge. The Mircourt craftsmen, after about ten years of apprenticeship, where leaving Mirecourt to make room for the new apprentices. From then, they could go to specialized workshops as Petitjean, Marcard, Roudhloff, Coffe-Goguette, etc. or going to other workshops that where building under the name of shops located in big cities such as Paris, London, Lyon, Bordeaux, etc. The third way, chosen by Mr. Janin, was to create its own workshop in another small town. Mr. Janin was having his own brand, what was a mark of his notoriety at that time.
This romantic guitar was built around 1830. It is a finely decorated instrument. It has a beautifully coloured spruce top and very high-quality mahogany back and sides. The back is laminated with an inside spruce layer, what was a current feature of high quality instruments at that time. The ivory bindings give to the guitar a great charisma and are marvellously contrasting with the ebony purflings. The most amazing feature of this instrument is its sound. It really has everything a romantic guitar sound should have. It has a direct spontaneous tone with balanced sympathetic resonances and an old clear timbre. It is a gorgeous salon guitar and is ready to be played.

Classical Guitar
The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.Look all products of the collection -
