Overview

This new concert guitar by Jonas Anatol Schneele demonstrates the precision and innovation that define his work as part of Germany’s new generation of luthiers. Built on traditional fan bracing enhanced with crossbars, it shows echoes of lattice design while preserving its own distinct tonal character. The double-sided construction provides notable projection and power, while its quick, sensitive response lends itself to nuanced and expressive playing. With an elevated fingerboard for effortless access to higher positions, it suits demanding concert repertoire as well as intimate settings. Its tonal palette is broad and colorful, offering clarity, warmth, and dynamic flexibility, making it a finely balanced modern concert instrument.

From 2013 to 2016, he deepened his knowledge of acoustics, restoration, innovative construction techniques, and musical instrument design through further studies at the College of Musical Instrument Construction in Markneukirchen. In 2017, he successfully completed his master craftsman’s examination in Mittenwald. Today, Jonas Schneele is one of the promising new generation of German luthiers, known for his precision craftsmanship, balanced tonal aesthetics, and thoughtful innovations.

About the guitar

This brand-new guitar by Jonas Anatol Schneele is an outstanding modern concert instrument, delivering impressive volume and refined responsiveness. While it incorporates contemporary elements, it is rooted in traditional construction principles, using a fan bracing system with crossbars—a design that shows some similarity to lattice bracing, yet remains unique in its own approach. A key structural feature is the double-sided construction, which enhances the guitar’s projection and tonal power. It responds quickly and cleanly to right-hand attack, making it highly playable and expressive, particularly in demanding musical contexts. The elevated fingerboard further improves access to the upper register, making the instrument especially suitable for modern concert repertoire. Despite its modern design features, the guitar retains a rich and varied tonal palette, allowing the performer to explore a wide range of colors, dynamics, and expressive nuances.
