Based in the charming city of Ghent, Belgium, Karel crafts an exclusive number of 9-10 guitars annually, all pre-ordered and painstakingly crafted to reflect his deep understanding and passion for the art. His building techniques draw heavily from the traditions of the old Spanish masters, enriched with modern innovations. Beyond crafting high-quality guitars, Karel Dedain shares his expertise as an instructor of classical guitar making at the Centre for Musical Instrument Building (CMB) in Puurs, Belgium, where he himself trained under the guidance of Walter Verreydt from 1998 to 2005. Karel has also dedicated significant time to researching and building replicas of antique classical concert guitars by legendary makers such as Torres, Garcia, Arias, Santos Hernandez, and Esteso.
