Overview
It was in the late 60s when Sergei de Jonge learned how to build guitars as the first apprentice of Jean Claude Larrivée, the soon-to-be godfather of Canadian guitar builders. In 1972 de Jonge established his own workshop and henceforth built mainly classical guitars before he started to build steel string guitars again a few years later. He also started sharing his knowledge and skills with his daughter Joshia, who now runs her own workshop.
This instrument’s top is made of fine cedar, its sides are made of Indian Rosewood. The strong sound of this guitar is impressive, it has a good balance and riveting depth of bass, focused mids and singing trebles. Altogether a remarkable instrument with impressive balance, sustain and refinement. All shellac French-polished to very high standard. The tuners are made by Rubner. A Hiscox Pro II case is included.
