Overview

Tamara Stahl is a young and very talented luthier who completed her apprenticeship as a luthier at the instrument making school in Mittenwald. Her personal model is a classical guitar, which was created through experience and guidance together with various guitar builders and the study of numerous instruments. The construction of the top is a 7 fan bracing with a continuous arching which gives the thinly crafted soundboard the necessary stiffness and is also aesthetically in harmony with the raised fingerboard, which facilitates playing in the high registers.

When inspecting the instrument you immediately notice that the craftsmanship is on an astonishingly high level. Small details of beautiful marquetry give the guitar a sober and highly elegant appearance. One can just drown in the gorgeous details that the luthier carefully has balanced into a charming wholeness. Balanced and brilliant comes to mind when playing on the guitar. Especially the well-separated clarity within the voices is remarkable. A beautiful sustain and warm timbre enhance the big and crispy sound full of harmonics and overtones. It is truly hard to put the guitar away as it is inspiring and a real pleasure to play. This instrument shows firm, thick basses matched with bright and glossy trebles with a lot of alluring sustain. Also, the coherence between the voices is in perfect balance. This guitar is highly responsive with enough power for all kinds of concert situations, quite vigorous without being overpowering. Considering all aspects of this instrument it is a true bargain for the player who looks not only for the impeccable sound, but also the pure beauty of exquisite craftsmanship, or in this case craftswomanship.

The guitar is fitted with machine heads made by Gotoh and a Hiscox Pro II GCL-L hard case.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
