Overview
Clarity in sound, sustain and balance are the characteristics which make the Kasha-Modell, constructed by Thomas Ochs, become outstanding. Design and construction are based on physical and acoustical principles. In the construction of this guitar, Thomas Ochs was inspired by the works of the US-American Physician Prof. Dr. Michael Kasha, who has given various innovative impulses for the construction of guitars since the 1970’s of the 20th century. The asymmetric construction of the guitar’s top, the accordingly attuned bridge, the resonating back and the soundhole located at the guitars rib characterize the instrument. Captivating in its elegance, quick in responsiveness, and with a voluminous sound, this guitar is the perfect tool for a virtuous. For the top, fine-grained spruce or Western Red Cedar is offered. All woods are, as a matter of course, well-seasoned (> 5 to 10 years) and of exceptionally good quality. The instrument offered here, has a top made of Canadian cedar and a body consisting of exceptionally attractive grained East Indian rosewood. The body, including the top, is sealed with a high polished nitrocellulose lacquer, the neck is treated with an oil/wax varnish.
