Youri Soroka - 2024 Doubletop No. 69

Youri Soroka - 2024 Doubletop No. 69

Overview

Youri Soroka is a dedicated luthier working from his workshop in Orléat, central France. Although he began his career as a computer engineer, Youri ultimately discovered his true passion in the art of guitarmaking. For him, lutherie is a continuous pursuit of perfect sound, exceptional playability, and refined aesthetics, which he brings to every instrument he creates.

This is Youri’s Double Top model, featuring an innovative design that combines Italian spruce as the base of the composite top with Western Red Cedar as the bottom layer. This sophisticated Double Top construction enhances the soundboard's strength and responsiveness, offering increased volume while maintaining a traditional tonal character, aided by a traditional 7-fan bracing. The back and sides are crafted from dark, straight-grained Indian rosewood, adding depth and warmth to the guitar’s tone. Additionally, the slightly elevated fingerboard improves playability, enhances neck stability, and reduces the risk of accidental nail marks on the top, making this beautifully crafted guitar both practical and a joy to play.

Check out the presentation video of this special guitar below, where you’ll find plenty of additional information about its playability and sound.

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
