Overview
Zoran Kuvač is a luthier based in the small town of Banja Luka in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This fertile country is very well known for its forests, where exquisite spruce and maple trees grow, ideal for instrument making. Zoran Kuvač opened his workshop there back in 1998 after gaining experience in instrument making in Serbia and attending courses with the great master José Romanillos.
This 2014 model was previously owned by a professional guitarist and was therefore played on a regular basis. It thus sounds very open and has a wonderfully wide and overtone-rich sound. It is in excellent condition and only shows playing signs, but neither cracks nor repairs. The guitars of Dominique Field inspired this model, both in the bracing and in the construction of the ribs. They are made of a single ply but are reinforced by numerous vertical braces to increase the rigidity of the guitar body and thus provide more projection. The result is a powerful voice with excellent balance and sustain. The timbral colour palette is extensive and beautiful tonal variations can be created with even minimal changes to the right-hand position. All in all, this is an outstanding classical guitar with a mature sound and excellent playability.
