As 2025 draws to a close, Siccas Guitars published a special concert video as a gesture of appreciation toward its international YouTube community. The concert brings together seven award-winning classical guitarists, each contributing a complete performance that reflects their individual musical voice. Conceived as a thank-you to listeners and supporters, the video also marks the beginning of a broader project that will continue into the coming year.
Beyond the shared concert format, the video introduces an additional perspective. Each of the featured artists has recorded a full-length solo concert, all scheduled for release throughout 2026. The year-end concert therefore serves both as a celebration of the present and as a preview of future musical releases.
Cristina Galietto and Schubert’s Ave Maria
The concert opens with Cristina Galietto performing Ave Maria by Franz Schubert, presented in an arrangement by José de Azpiazu. The transcription preserves the lyrical clarity of the original vocal line while adapting it to the expressive possibilities of the classical guitar. Galietto’s interpretation emphasizes sustained phrasing and careful balance between melody and accompaniment.
She performs on a Siccas Luthiers Recital Traditional model with a spruce top. The instrument’s clarity and focused response support the transparent texture required by Schubert’s music, allowing the melodic line to remain clearly defined.
Zoe Barnett Interprets Albéniz’s Cataluña
Zoe Barnett follows with Cataluña by Isaac Albéniz, a work originally conceived for piano and later adopted into the classical guitar repertoire. The piece draws on regional character and rhythmic nuance, requiring both precision and flexibility in interpretation.
Barnett performs on a Siccas Luthiers Creation Doubletop Triptych. The double-top construction provides projection and dynamic range, supporting the shifting textures and rhythmic accents characteristic of Albéniz’s writing.
Virgile Barthe and Mendelssohn’s Lieder ohne Worte
Virgile Barthe presents Lieder ohne Worte Op. 19 No. 6 by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, arranged for guitar by Dusan Bogdanovic. Originally a piano miniature, the piece translates naturally to the guitar through its song-like phrasing and harmonic clarity.
The performance is played on a Siccas Luthiers Creation Doubletop with a cedar top. The warmth of cedar complements the introspective character of the music, supporting long melodic arcs and subtle dynamic shaping.
Paolo Besson Plays Piazzolla
Paolo Besson performs La muerte del ángel by Astor Piazzolla in his own arrangement. The piece combines rhythmic drive with expressive tension, reflecting Piazzolla’s blend of classical structure and tango influences.
Besson also plays a Siccas Luthiers Creation Doubletop Cedar. The instrument’s responsiveness supports the rhythmic articulation and contrast required by the music, allowing the percussive and lyrical elements to coexist clearly.
Kristina Varlid and Scriabin’s Prelude
Kristina Varlid offers an arrangement of Prelude Op. 11 No. 21 by Alexander Scriabin. Originally written for piano, the prelude is introspective and harmonically rich, demanding a refined sense of tone color when adapted for guitar.
Varlid performs on a classical guitar by Danilo Bazzana, built in 2025. The instrument’s clarity and balance allow the harmonic language of Scriabin’s writing to unfold with restraint and coherence.
Valeria Galimova and a South American Classic
Valeria Galimova plays Maria Luisa by Julio Sagreras, a staple of the classical guitar repertoire. The piece is valued for its lyrical simplicity and expressive melody, often serving as a study in tone and phrasing.
She performs on a Siccas Luthiers Recital Traditional with a cedar top. The instrument supports a warm, singing tone that aligns closely with the character of Sagreras’s music.
Thu Le Concludes with Feliz Navidad
The concert concludes with Thu Le performing Feliz Navidad in her own arrangement. The piece introduces a festive and approachable character, bringing the concert to a reflective yet forward-looking close.
Thu Le plays a guitar by Tamara Stahl, built in 2025. The instrument’s direct response and clarity support the rhythmic lightness of the arrangement while maintaining musical focus.
Looking Ahead to the 2026 Concert Releases
This year-end concert represents more than a single publication. Each participating artist has recorded a complete solo concert, all of which will be released throughout 2026 on the Siccas Guitars channel. The video therefore acts as an introduction to a broader series that will continue to explore diverse repertoire, instruments, and interpretative approaches.
By bringing together award-winning guitarists, carefully chosen repertoire, and a wide range of instruments, the concert reflects the values that define Siccas Guitars. It highlights the relationship between musicians, luthiers, and listeners, while offering a preview of the musical projects that will shape the coming year.
