From Mannheim with Love: Our Guitar Summit 2024 Experience

The Siccas Guitars team recently had the pleasure of attending the Guitar Summit 2024 in Mannheim, one of the most significant events for guitar enthusiasts, luthiers, and sellers in Europe. Being just a short journey from our headquarters, we made the trip together, and with eight members of our team, we rented a little bus to travel there as a group. The excitement in the air was palpable, and it felt like we were back on a school field trip—buzzing with anticipation, chatting away, and ready for an unforgettable day.

The Ultimate Hub for Guitar Enthusiasts

The Guitar Summit, held annually in Mannheim, has quickly grown into one of the most important gatherings for the guitar community, attracting enthusiasts, musicians, manufacturers, and sellers from all around the world. It showcases the latest innovations in guitar design, technology, and craftsmanship, with a heavy emphasis on electric and acoustic guitars. The summit offers an array of workshops, masterclasses, and live performances, making it an unmissable event for those passionate about the instrument. The diversity and quality of guitars and gear on display are unparalleled, and it’s become an essential destination for networking, discovering new trends, and exploring the ever-evolving world of guitars.

Classical Meets Modern: What We Anticipated

Since Siccas Guitars focuses primarily on classical guitars, we weren’t quite sure what to expect from a summit that predominantly showcases electric and acoustic models. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the representation of classical guitars was more substantial than we had anticipated. Not only did this allow us to reconnect with some of our cherished business partners, but it also gave us the opportunity to build new relationships and explore future opportunities for our store.

A Reunion with Craftsmanship: Vicente Carrillo

One of the highlights of the summit was meeting with Vicente Carrillo, a luthier we’ve had the pleasure of working with in the past. Vicente, a proud craftsman, shared his latest creations with us, and we were so impressed that we decided to add some of his guitars to our collection right there and then. His work truly embodies the spirit and tradition of classical guitar craftsmanship, and we’re honored to continue our partnership with someone so dedicated to quality and excellence.

Catching Up with Gils from Knobloch Strings

Another highlight was reconnecting with our good friend Gils from Knobloch Strings. Gils has been a reliable and valued business partner for quite some time, and it’s always a pleasure to see him in person. Knobloch Strings has consistently provided us with exceptional products, and we’re excited to keep building on this strong relationship.

Spanish Flavors and Future Plans

We also had the chance to spend quality time with Manuel Adalid and Alberto Hernandez at their booth. After a productive meeting discussing future projects and collaborations, they treated us to a classic Spanish hospitality experience, complete with jamón, manchego cheese, and red wine. This moment of camaraderie not only lifted our spirits but also solidified our bond, making us even more excited about future collaborations. We are thrilled to have been invited to visit their workshop in Valencia, and you can be sure we’ll be sharing our experiences with you when that trip takes place.

A Day of Growth and Connection

The Guitar Summit 2024 turned out to be an incredibly fruitful day for us, both in terms of business opportunities and team spirit. It’s events like these that remind us of the importance of building relationships, not just with our partners and friends in the industry but also within our own team. Experiences like this allow us to grow closer, learn together, and become even more passionate about what we do.

We’re grateful for the chance to connect with so many talented individuals and to be part of such a vibrant community. We’re already looking forward to the next Guitar Summit and can’t wait to see where this journey will take us next!

Your next step is a real classic

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
