Chiara Frisio is an Italian luthier from Milan who unites a deep musical heritage with refined craftsmanship. Coming from a family rooted in both music and artisanal tradition, she chose the path of instrument making immediately after finishing school and trained at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria di Milano. Under the guidance of masters such as Roberto de Miranda, Silvia Zanchi, Ivan Bruna, and Bob Van de Kerkchove, she acquired a solid foundation in the art of lutherie. After graduating as Maestro Liutaio, she worked alongside Lorenzo Lippi, one of Italy’s most respected instrument makers, where she deepened her expertise in mandolins, historical plucked instruments, and concert guitars. Guided by principles of precision, playability, and tonal beauty, Chiara continues to explore a wide range of instruments, blending traditional Italian craftsmanship with a refined sense of balance and elegance.

Chiara Frisio – Guitar Maker from Milan

Chiara Frisio, originally from Milan, comes from a family with a long-standing tradition in music and craftsmanship. Immediately after completing her studies, she chose to pursue the path of a luthier and enrolled at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria di Milano. There, she received a comprehensive education under esteemed masters such as Roberto de Miranda, Silvia Zanchi, Ivan Bruna, and Bob Van de Kerkchove.

After graduating as a Maestro Liutaio, she worked for several years with the distinguished Italian instrument maker Lorenzo Lippi. Under his mentorship, she refined her technical skills and deepened her understanding of mandolins, historical plucked instruments, and classical guitars. This experience greatly influenced her artistic direction and craftsmanship.

Following in the footsteps of the great masters of the past, Chiara Frisio continues to dedicate herself to the construction and study of a wide range of instruments. Guided by the principles of playability, precision, and acoustic beauty, she strives for a clean and elegant aesthetic. Her work embodies the finest traditions of Italian luthiery, combining technical mastery with artistic sensitivity to create instruments of timeless character and expressive depth.
