Originally trained as a carpenter, he devoted himself entirely to building flamenco guitars in the early 1960s. His instruments are celebrated for their powerful, characterful sound with deep, expressive basses and clear, singing trebles. Barba’s guitars are played by leading flamenco artists such as Pedro Peña, Niño de Pura, Manuel Molina, Pepe Justicia, Riqueni, and many others, securing his reputation as a true maestro of modern flamenco lutherie.
