About the luthier
Alessandro Perciaccante is an Italian classical guitar maker based in La Herradura, on the coast of Granada, whose work is firmly rooted in the traditional Spanish school. He moved to Spain in 2017 to study the art of guitar making and built his first instrument at the European Institute of Guitar Making under the guidance of master luthier Stephen Hill and Evan Kingma. This initial training developed into an official apprenticeship with Hill from 2019 to 2024, during which Perciaccante worked closely with him on classical and flamenco guitars, including his Master Models, and also taught in guitar-making courses at the EIGM. In 2024, he established his own workshop in La Herradura, where he now builds a limited number of classical and flamenco guitars following the traditional Spanish method of construction. His classical instruments are particularly influenced by the Granada school, notably the work of Antonio Marín Montero and his collaboration with Robert Bouchet, alongside Perciaccante’s longstanding study of Antonio de Torres. In 2019, he achieved fourth place at the International Antonio Marín Montero Guitar Making Competition in Granada with a flamenco guitar, an important milestone early in his career.
About the guitar
This 2026 guitar represents a carefully considered stage in the gradual development of Perciaccante’s traditional design. Its asymmetrical bracing incorporates a delicate plate-and-brace hybrid beneath the bridge, conceived to refine an already powerful and immediate response. Numerous vertical side braces reinforce the body in place of double sides, contributing to projection while preserving the instrument’s directness and flexibility. The voice combines depth with softness: the basses are deep, resonant, and distinctly singing, while the trebles remain full, smooth, and elegant. This character carries evenly through the registers, giving melodic lines and chords a coherent tonal balance. Notes sustain freely, while individual voices remain clear without losing their rounded quality. The 640 mm scale gives the left hand a particularly comfortable reach without diminishing the authority of the basses or the persistence of the sound. A partial 20th fret beneath the first string provides access to the high C, extending the range beyond the standard 19-fret layout. A finely worked rosette of concentric geometric mosaics brings dark, pale, and muted green tones into delicate contrast with the spruce soundboard, giving the guitar a distinctive yet restrained visual identity.

How do I properly care for my classical guitar?
