Frequently Asked Questions About Classical Guitars

How do I choose the right classical guitar for my level?

Choosing the right classical guitar depends on your playing level, musical goals, and budget. Beginners benefit from studio-model guitars from renowned workshops, while advanced players and professionals often choose a handmade master guitar. We are happy to advise you personally and can send detailed sound samples and videos on request.

What is the difference between a master guitar and a studio guitar?

Master guitars are built entirely by hand in the workshop of a single luthier, using only high-quality, well-aged tonewoods. Studio guitars are made in small series, often under the supervision of the master luthier, and offer excellent value for students and ambitious amateur players.

Can I try a classical guitar at home for 14 days?

Yes — every guitar you purchase from us comes with a 14-day home approval period. This complimentary trial applies worldwide to all orders, whether you are in Germany, Europe, the USA, Asia or anywhere else. We ship your instrument fully insured in a high-quality case so you can play it under your own acoustic conditions. If the guitar is not the right one for you, simply send it back and receive a full refund of the purchase price.

Can I try a classical guitar before purchasing?

Absolutely. You are warmly invited to visit our showroom in Karlsruhe, Germany, and test the instruments at your leisure. We are happy to schedule a personal appointment. If a visit is not possible, we send detailed videos and sound samples, and offer extensive consultation by phone or video call.

What payment methods and financing options do you offer?

We accept bank transfer, PayPal, major credit cards, and Klarna. For high-value instruments, we offer individual installment plans on request. Please contact us directly — we will find a suitable solution for every budget.

How do I properly care for my classical guitar?

A classical guitar requires constant humidity between 45 and 55 percent. Store the instrument in its case with a humidifier, avoid direct sunlight and large temperature fluctuations. Change the strings regularly and clean the guitar with a soft microfiber cloth.

About the Guitar Maker

Alessandro Perciaccante is one of the most promising young luthiers of his generation. With an unwavering pursuit of perfection and deep respect for the Spanish guitar-making tradition, he blends traditional craftsmanship with modern influences to create unique classical and flamenco guitars.

From Passion to Profession – The Journey of a Master

Alessandro’s musical journey began at the age of 13 when he received his first classical guitar — the start of a lifelong passion. In 2017, he moved to Spain to deepen his understanding of guitar making.

In a picturesque coastal village in the province of Granada, he discovered the workshop of Stephen Hill, one of Europe’s most esteemed luthiers, located at the European Institute of Guitar Making (EIGM). Under the mentorship of Stephen Hill and Evan Kingma, Alessandro built his first guitar — an experience that ignited a lasting devotion to the craft.

Through continuous refinement of his skills in Hill’s workshop, he eventually became his official apprentice and began building Hill’s Model 2 classical and flamenco guitars. Today, Alessandro serves as Stephen’s right-hand man, working on his elite Master Model guitars — a privilege previously held by only one other apprentice.

Influences and Inspiration – The Granada School of Luthiers

As his craft matured, Alessandro developed a deep admiration for the great Granada School luthiers. His work is heavily inspired by Antonio Marín Montero and his collaboration with the French master Robert Bouchet.

He also holds profound respect for Antonio de Torres, the father of the modern Spanish guitar. This legacy lives on in Alessandro’s instruments, which merge classical principles with modern refinements to achieve exceptional tonal balance and beauty.

Custom-Built Guitars – Tailored Perfection

Alessandro takes a client-centered approach, maintaining close communication throughout the building process. He keeps players informed at every stage and invites their feedback to ensure that each instrument perfectly reflects their preferences and style.

On request, he also builds compact-bodied romantic guitars with shorter scale lengths — ideal for musicians seeking enhanced comfort and effortless playability.

Exclusivity and Quality – Guitars with a Soul

To maintain the highest standards, Alessandro limits his annual production to a small number of guitars. This guarantees that each instrument meets his exacting expectations. His guitars are not only musical instruments but also works of art, celebrated for their projection, responsiveness, and expressive dynamic range.

Achievements and International Recognition

In 2019, Alessandro competed in the “Antonio Marín Montero International Guitar-Making Competition” in Granada, one of the most prestigious events in the field.

  • Competing against over 20 luthiers from around the world, he presented a flamenco guitar that received high praise from the judges.
  • Finalist and 4th place winner – a remarkable achievement for only his fourth guitar.
  • The experience allowed him to observe, learn, and integrate techniques from other master luthiers into his own evolving style.

This milestone marked a defining moment in his career, affirming his craftsmanship and artistic maturity.

Why Choose a Guitar by Alessandro Perciaccante?

An Alessandro Perciaccante guitar is far more than an instrument — it is the result of years of dedication, study, and refined artistry.
