Overview
Overview
Altamira has established a reputation as one of the most interesting brands for Gypsy Jazz guitars. With a focus on premium woods and authentic sound, Altamira guitars offer excellent value for money. Built in Asia under the direction of Hanson Yao, who trained at the renowned Rodriguez workshop in Spain, the instruments are played by both professional and passionate Gypsy Jazz guitarists around the world.
The "M" stands for the initials of legendary guitar maker Mario Maccaferri, who developed this type of guitar, which was built in collaboration with French manufacturer Selmer from 1932 to about 1952. Although Maccaferri's collaboration with Selmer ended in 1934, the company continued to produce several models of this guitar until 1952. It was Django Reinhard who popularized the Selmer Maccaferri guitars with their typical percussive tone and playing style. Thus, the Selmer Maccaferri model, with its relatively large body and either oval "petite bouche" or D-shaped "grande bouche" soundhole, is an indispensable element for any guitarist who wants to explore the inspiring and fascinating repertoire of Gypsy Jazz.
The M10 model is a fully solid Gypsy Jazz guitar from the Altamira Gypsy Jazz series. Thanks to the solid arched spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides, it is a beautiful instrument with great tonal character. The mahogany gives the instrument a fantastic response, along with a very light and playable touch. Available with oval soundhole (petite bouche) or D-shaped soundhole (grande bouche), high gloss finish, or antique finish, this guitar is a great all-rounder suitable for the whole range of gypsy jazz repertoire. A well-fitting hardshell case is included for optimal protection of the instrument.

Classical Guitars
The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.Look all products of the collection -
