Altamira Sor II

Altamira Sor II

Overview

Altamira is a well-established brand that has built up a solid reputation in recent years thanks to great instruments of consistent quality at excellent value for money. Altamira guitars are made by a highly trained and experienced team of luthiers under the direction of the owner and luthier Hanson Yao, who was an apprentice at the famous Rodriguez workshop in Spain.

This brand new romantic guitar is inspired by Fernando Sor's instrument, which was built by René Lacote. It is an excellent guitar with a vintage look and very interesting dimensions. Unlike many original romantic guitars and replicas, this Sor II model has a 64 cm scale length and a 50 mm wide fingerboard. This makes it very comfortable for most guitarists to play. Moreover, its sound conveys the aesthetics of romantic guitars. The pegs are mechanical replicas of Peghed, which allow easy, precise and very fast tuning. The guitar has a wonderfully clear timbre and the response of the top is very immediate. The first side finally has a warm timbre and sings beautifully.

Altamira Sor II - Marietta & Lagrima Francisco Tarrega

While this guitar is sold, these are ready for you

  • Classical Guitars

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
