Overview
This beautiful romantic guitar was built around 1910 in Markneukirchen, Germany. It is especially inspired by the guitars of Karl August Jacob (1846-1918), the founder of the famous Jacob family of instrument makers, of which Richard Jacob "Weissgerber" is the most famous. The spruce top is beautifully decorated, with a rose-shaped mother-of-pearl inlay and a delicate rosette, and the body is made of Indian rosewood. The top is in perfect condition and only on the back there are some restored cracks, so that the guitar can be played immediately.
This instrument has a very charming sound. The tone is clear and mellow and is typical for guitars from this period. It is also an excellent guitar to approach the romantic repertoire with an authentic sound and touch. We are always thrilled how an old instrument like this can still produce a beautiful and colourful sound.
