Overview

This wonderful guitar by Anton Stauffer & Comp., represents one of the models which were constructed by Stauffer with the reference “nach dem Modell des Luigi Legnani“ (=in accordance with the model by Luigi Legnani). This guitar was built in 1829 and has the serial no. 480. The top is made of spruce wood and has a matt finish. The guitar’s bridge is designed in a plain and modest manner and is a copy of an original bridge (made by Bernhard Kresse). The mother of pearl dots on the fretboard were added at some point in the past. The sides as well as the one-piece back are made of maple. It has some very well repaired cracks on the top and the sides. It is fully playable.
