Overview

The Hanika 8-Pro stands as a concert instrument of remarkable refinement, built from East Indian rosewood and a fine spruce top to deliver a powerful attack, full resonance and clarity. Its extended eight-string design expands the tonal range with deep, resonant basses, while the slightly narrowed string spacing ensures comfortable playability. A matte lacquered surface with closed pores enhances both projection and elegance, and the dome-shaped top with 7-fold Torres bracing supports tonal richness and stability. With Rubner tuners, reinforced Cedro neck and Grenadilla fittings, the 8-Pro offers a precise, versatile sound for ambitious repertoire.

More details about the guitar

At HANIKA craftsmanship is understood as custom work and sound as art. A guitar from the famous Baiersdorf manufacture is a symbol of quality and craftsmanship tradition. Since 1953 it has been the basis for the success story of the company, combined with trend-setting innovations. Master plucked instrument maker Armin Hanika took over the company from his father in 1993 and has been building classical guitars of outstanding quality ever since. Immerse yourself in the exquisite beauty of the 8-Pro, a guitar of excellent quality, crafted from carefully selected East Indian rosewood for the body and sides, as well as premium spruce wood for the top. This meticulous combination of rosewood and spruce – the world’s preferred tonewoods for guitars – guarantees a powerful attack and full sound in this model. Additionally, two extra strings enrich the sonic diversity with particularly deep bass tones. By default, we tune your guitar to contra A, C, E, A, D, g, h, e´, while the slightly reduced spacing ensures comfortable playability. A matte lacquered surface, designed with closed pores, optimizes the sound and adds an elegant visual aspect. The 8-Pro is made of solid tonewoods and equipped with high-quality Rubner mechanics, distinguished by ebony buttons and precisely milled holes. Other quality features include the Cedro neck, consistently reinforced with Grenadilla, a Grenadilla fingerboard, and a bridge saddle made of hard bone material. The tonal power of the 8-Pro is underlined by a dome-shaped top with symmetric 7-fold Torres bracing, which ensures both outstanding sound and a rich selection of tonal colors, while at the same time increasing the stability of the instrument. With the 8-Pro, you invest in an instrument of unparalleled quality, where every detail is geared towards optimal musical performance. Allow the versatility of the 8-Pro to inspire you and enrich your musical universe.

Frequently Asked Questions About Classical Guitars

How do I choose the right classical guitar for my level?

Choosing the right classical guitar depends on your playing level, musical goals, and budget. Beginners benefit from studio-model guitars from renowned workshops, while advanced players and professionals often choose a handmade master guitar. We are happy to advise you personally and can send detailed sound samples and videos on request.

What is the difference between a master guitar and a studio guitar?

Master guitars are built entirely by hand in the workshop of a single luthier, using only high-quality, well-aged tonewoods. Studio guitars are made in small series, often under the supervision of the master luthier, and offer excellent value for students and ambitious amateur players.

Can I try a classical guitar at home for 14 days?

Yes — every guitar you purchase from us comes with a 14-day home approval period. This complimentary trial applies worldwide to all orders, whether you are in Germany, Europe, the USA, Asia or anywhere else. We ship your instrument fully insured in a high-quality case so you can play it under your own acoustic conditions. If the guitar is not the right one for you, simply send it back and receive a full refund of the purchase price.

Can I try a classical guitar before purchasing?

Absolutely. You are warmly invited to visit our showroom in Karlsruhe, Germany, and test the instruments at your leisure. We are happy to schedule a personal appointment. If a visit is not possible, we send detailed videos and sound samples, and offer extensive consultation by phone or video call.

What payment methods and financing options do you offer?

We accept bank transfer, PayPal, major credit cards, and Klarna. For high-value instruments, we offer individual installment plans on request. Please contact us directly — we will find a suitable solution for every budget.

How do I properly care for my classical guitar?

A classical guitar requires constant humidity between 45 and 55 percent. Store the instrument in its case with a humidifier, avoid direct sunlight and large temperature fluctuations. Change the strings regularly and clean the guitar with a soft microfiber cloth.
