Daniel Stark - 2024 Doubletop
Overview
Overview
Daniel Stark’s journey into the world of guitar-making began with an early passion for music, cultivated through his study of classical guitar. After graduating from high school, he honed his craftsmanship during a year-long internship with renowned luthier Stephan Schlemper, drawing inspiration from the legendary Antonio de Torres. In 2006, Daniel earned his diploma from the University of Applied Sciences for Musical Instrument Making in Markneukirchen, where his talent garnered international recognition. Esteemed musicians such as Prof. Eric Franceries and Prof. Jan Labant were among the first to embrace his instruments, setting the stage for a flourishing career. Today, Daniel operates his workshop in Friedrichsfehn, Germany, where his guitars are celebrated for their impeccable sound quality and craftsmanship.
This double-top guitar exemplifies Daniel Stark’s dedication to craftmanship and innovation. It features exquisite materials, including a Swiss spruce top and Madagascar rosewood back and sides, personally sourced by Daniel 20 years ago and carefully preserved to achieve their full tonal potential. At its core is Daniel’s signature double-top construction, where a lattice of spruce strips, resembling lattice bracing, is enclosed between two thin soundboards. This design results in a lightweight yet highly responsive soundboard that produces a rich, balanced tone with exceptional sustain and clarity. The guitar includes additional refinements, such as doubled sides for enhanced projection, an elevated fingerboard for improved playability, and an armrest for comfort.
