Danilo Bazzana - 2022 No. 55 REG Limited Edition

Danilo Bazzana - 2022 No. 55 REG Limited Edition

Overview

Danilo Bazzana was born in Milan in 1985. At the age of thirteen, he started to play the guitar, which became one of his future passions. In April 2015 he opened his workshop in the center of Paderno Dugnano, where he alternates the construction of the classical guitar with the work of fine-tuning, restoration, and repair on any type of pinched instrument. He builds guitars of a traditional type, inspired by the great masters, paying close attention to the choice of materials of every single component of the instrument.

Due to the large number of excellent luthiers exhibiting their instruments and the outstanding quality of the guitars presented at the Roma Guitar Expo, it is certainly a globally unique event in the area of classical guitars. Every year, carefully selected guitar makers are invited to present a special edition, a one- of-a-kind guitar that sets a very high benchmark in terms of woodworking, craftsmanship and sound.

The 2022 REG Limited Edition guitar by Danilo Bazzana is dedicated to his three-year-old daughter and named after her: Alma. This wonderful instrument stands out by its most subtle yet exquisite details. The half herringbone in the purfling and the rosette is extremely time-consuming to craft and gives this instrument a captivating, refined look. It has a traditionally braced spruce soundboard, with a pattern inspired by the French lutherie, particularly Daniel Friederich and Robert Bouchet. This construction is purely traditional, which is why Danilo puts great care in the choice of materials for each component of the instrument, which "must vibrate in its entirety."

  • Classical Guitar

The classical guitar, with its soft nylon strings and characteristic timbre, has become a symbol of chamber music, Spanish tradition, and concert repertoire. Its modern form was shaped by Antonio de Torres in the 19th century, setting the standard for the body, fan bracing, and the 65-centimeter scale length that are still used today. Instruments in this category open up a rich palette from the refined Romantic miniatures of Tárrega to the majestic concertos of Rodrigo. Here you will find guitars that preserve historical continuity and at the same time inspire new interpretations.
