Overview
David Ryer is a Canada based guitar maker. He started repairing guitars for local guitar shops in the 1980s. Later he crafted mainly high quality acoustic guitars. In 2000 he did an initial training in classical guitar building with Sergei de Jonge which he completed in an extensive apprenticeship some years later. He became a good friend of Sergei and now builds high-end handcrafted acoustic and classical guitars in Ashton, Canada.
This spruce double-top guitar is absolutely fantastic. It is an incredibly powerful and direct instrument with an immediate response, a huge volume and a clear sound. The bear-clawed spruce top is definitely one of the most impressive we’ve ever seen at the shop. This instrument also features a sound port, making it an optimal guitar for chamber music and recitals.
